Safety-Mate SM2 Jaw Version
Following the success and popularity of the standard Safety-Mate safety ladder designed exclusively for use with heavy vehicles, we are please to formally announce the launch of the Safety-Mate SM2 Jaw Version.
The standard Safety-Mate ladder provided a much needed safe option to allow drivers and operators of heavy vehicles, safe passage on and off the back of their vehicles. The next obvious step in providing an even safer option, was to produce a ladder that actually gripped the edge of the vehicle, thus reducing, or in truth eliminating the chances of slip, or flip.
The Safety-Mate SM2 Jaw Version,
has the same wide access, safety handles and built in stability, plus the ability to fold virtually flat, of the original product, BUT, with the added benefit of an adjustable jaw which locates on the topside and underside of the truck, or trailer bed. The jaw actually grips the underside of the vehicle bed as weight is applied to the safety handles as and when a driver, or operator goes up, or down the ladder.
The ladder will not slip, or flip sideways and the moment any pressure is applied to the safety handles during operation, the jaw grips the underside of the vehicle preventing the ladder falling backwards, even if the operator leaned right back.

A close up of the adjustable jaw, the jaw will adjust from 5.5 inches, to 7.5 inches which will accommadate MOST vehicle and trailer bed depths.
It should be noted, that the unique swivel action of the ACTUAL jaws, to which the safety handles are attached, will allow a variation in operational bed heights. What ever the angle of the ladder, the location bracket will ALWAYS meet the vehicle square on and the safety handles will be upright, hence the added stability of the Safety-Mate SM2.
